An adverb is a word that tells us more about a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
It tells us how, when, where, or how often something happens.
Examples:
Rama sings sweetly. → (tells how Rama sings)
He came yesterday. → (tells when he came)
The boy ran outside. → (tells where he ran)
She always helps others. → (tells how often she helps)
Kinds of Adverbs:
Adverb of Manner – tells how something happens.
Example: slowly, neatly, quickly, well
She writes neatly.
Adverb of Time – tells when something happens.
Example: today, yesterday, soon, now
I will go tomorrow.
Adverb of Place – tells where something happens.
Example: here, there, outside, everywhere
The children are playing outside.
Adverb of Frequency – tells how often something happens.
Example: always, never, sometimes, often
He always comes late.
Adverb of Degree – tells how much or to what extent.
Example: very, quite, too, enough
She is very beautiful.
 Tip to Remember:
Most adverbs end with “-ly”
quick → quickly
happy → happily
slow → slowly
(but not all adverbs end in -ly, e.g., soonverywell)
